Türkiye's Culture Portal describes a restored, cross-shaped building with a dome and connects its identification in 1891 with research prompted by Anne Catherine Emmerich's visions. The tradition that Mary lived here is not the same as conclusive archaeological proof. You can appreciate the site's cultural significance without sharing the belief, while leaving space for people who have come to pray.
